A "Deus ex Machina" tattoo for an athiest?

I know the phrase originated in ancient Greek playwrites as a literary term that basically meant a 'higher power' came to "save the day" in a situation where the character seemed doomed. However these days it seems to be used in a more idealist sense. When i first heard the phrase Deus Ex Machina and that it meant 'god out of the machine', i thought of it as meaning the idea of god is just something that people atribute all good things to. Also, as something pumped into the minds of people as if it were a machine feeding people false beliefs. As an atheist i think that religion is crap and that its mostly used to brainwash people. so would this even make sense as a tattoo for someone who is not religious?A "Deus ex Machina" tattoo for an athiest?
I think it would make a rather cool tattoo but be prepared to put up with a certain amount of ironic questioning. you might take the position, by the way, that the ancient Greeks were polytheistic and that is in a way as much a refutation of monotheism as is atheism.
